This fourth of July, we here at AAR decided to join in on the festive mood. What better way to celebrate our country's birthday on your phone than to shoot fireworks from it? No, we're not suggesting you strap handful of bottle rockets to your Android phone and set it up with the kickstand and the camera rolling. That would be funny though.

Today we bring you a review on one of the best live wallpapers on the market. 3D Skyrocket. For those of you unfamiliar with the wallpaper, it's a live wallpaper that brightens up your homescreens with colored fireworks.

3D Skyrocket stands out from other fireworks wallpapers because is uses Open GL for the visuals. For those of you unfamiliar with Open GL, it is a toolkit that mobile gamers have been moving toward for the last couple years. It's main purpose is to bring apps and games to life using 3D engines. What does this mean for you and this app? It means 3D skyrocket is one of the most (if not THE most) realistic fireworks wallpapers out there. And if you look around, there are quite a few of them.

First of all, if you're going to do something like fireworks, you had better "go big, or go home". There are too many other fireworks wallpapers out there to just make a crappy fireworks wallpaper and expect it to get popular. The Go Wallpaper Dev Team saw this, noticed that there was already a flood of these wallpapers, and boy did they go big. When I first saw this app, I thought, "Great, another fireworks wallpaper." But just for kicks, I clicked on it, and the pictures looked pretty good. The Market reviews were nice also so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I wasn't disappointed, as neither should you be.

What I Like About This App

This wallpaper is amazing for many reasons. First, the point of view of the fireworks is constantly changing. This is what makes it 3D. The camera is always panning and zooming, giving you a real-time view of the fireworks from all angles. You can actually see the stream of smoke trailing the firework as it climbs high into the sky.

Many fireworks wallpapers have just one type of firework; The basic sphere shaped burst, and it usually is only in solid colors. Not 3D Skyrocket. This thing shoots all the different types out there. You've got the standard fireworks along with the two-color bursts, supernovas, halos, sparkling fountains and much more. Skyrocket also shows cloud levels as well as the stars, which really makes it look as real as it gets.

What Could Be Better

While Skyrocket is one of the most visually appealing live wallpapers out there, it lacks somewhat in customization. Most other fireworks wallpapers allow the colors and frequencies to be adjusted. While this is a minor gripe, it still would be nice to set the frequency to "super-ridiculous-overload-your-graphics-processor" high and watch the grand finale shine so bright you have to turn your phone's brightness down. Also, while I didn't experience it much, there have been multiple complaints from paying customers that the full version has some performance issues. The most common complaints were freezing or blank screen issues. Hopefully the Go Wallpaper Dev Team is working on this.

The LG Cosmos touch cell phone is a basic cell phone that allows you to do a number of typical things beyond placing and receiving calls and voice mails. The phone is part of a new generation of smart phones that allows you to take advantage of features such as touch screens, texting, and accessing the internet. The phone is a continuation of the LG Cosmos, which was a decent little phone in its own right. However, the LG Cosmos touch adds touch capabilities, as implied by its name, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack, which makes it much easier to use the phone as an mp3 player while on the go. A number of other features, however, are rather similar to their older counterparts in the LG Cosmos, such as a sliding text keyboard, a slot for memory cards, stereo Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and a 1.3 megapixel camera built into the rear of the phone. This article will describe additional features of the LG Comsos touch cell phone.

As described above, the LG Cosmos touch is built to be a basic cell phone. It is also a small one, weighing a paltry 4 ounces and slightly larger than 4 inches by 2 inches by.65 inches in length, width, and height. It has a sliding form factor and contains an internal antenna, as do most phones released these days. A particular strength of the phone is its battery, which gives you up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 480 hours, or 20 days, of standby time. This is considerably more than the estimates most people are able to get from smarter phones such as the iPhone or the Nexus One or the Samsung Fascinate, which shows the advantage you can sometimes receive from choosing a simpler phone over a smarter and more battery hungry one.

The display of the LG Cosmos touch is an LCD screen that is 2.8 inches across diagonally and capable of displaying a 400 x 240 pixel map. The platform and operating system are proprietary to LG. It isn't known how much memory is built into the phone, but the phone book has a capacity of up to 1000 numbers. Additionally, a number of accessibility features have been built into the phone to make it more user friendly for people of a variety of ages and abilities. For example, you can adjust the size of text on the phone to make it easier to send or read messages or to dial numbers on the phone. The phone is also compatible with hearing aids and supports Spanish as well as English.

When it comes to alerts, you can select vibrating or polyphonic ring tone options. You have a number of connectivity options, including Bluetooth and USB. You can enter up to 5 numbers per contact entry, and if you want to add a picture or ringer identification system to make it easier to figure out which of your friends is calling you, you can do so easily. Overall, the LG Cosmos touch is a decent little cell phone that lets you do more than simply make calls.

The design as well as the body of HTC One S is something that will surely catch your attention. No doubt that big smartphones have got a bigger screen which makes them perfect to access the web, but not many people prefer carrying bulky phones and with dimensions of 130 x 65 x7.8 mm, HTC One S is pretty handy. Also, it is interesting to note that this is the slimmest smartphone ever made by the company. The anodized aluminum body makes this device really robust and solid. A micro USD port can be found on the side of the device which also doubles up as a battery charger and a connection to HDTV, whereas on the other side of the phone volume control switches are located. This phone supports a 3.5 mm audio jack. On the back panel of the phone you will see an 8MP camera having LED flash feature.

The HTC One S runs on Android 4.0 OS Ice Cream Sandwich and the user interface Sense 4.0 is pretty amazing. You can add up to seven home screens in this phone. The powerful OS and processor ensure that all the tasks run smoothly on this device. There is a 1650mAh capacity battery in this phone.
